SPORTFISHING IN ZIHUATANEJO

Vargas Sportfishing in Zihuatanejo provides deep-sea and inshore guided fishing tours in the Pacific Ocean fronting Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa, Mexico for large and small game and food fish, including marlin, sailfish, tuna, dorado, and roosterfish. The Vargas family has made their living fishing the coast of Zihuatanejo, Mexico for over three generations, and they share their invaluable knowledge and experience with anglers of all levels of ability, whether beginner, professional, or recreational. We practice catch & release!

Six boats are available for sport fishing charters. All are well maintained and come fully equipped with quality fishing tackle and electronic gear as well as an experienced captain. Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa offer some of the best sport fishing conditions not only in Mexico, but in the entire world. Several popular sport fishing tournaments are held here annually.

ESTURION I

The Esturion I is a 26' Super Panga powered by an 85 hp Yamaha outboard engine.

The Esturion I comes equipped with a live bait well, tuna tubes, VHF radio, GPS, and stereo CD player along with Penn International reels matched to custom rods as well as light spinning tackle.

At the helm is Captain Alejandro Vargas with over 15 years experience fishing in the Zihuatanejo-Ixtapa area.

The Esturion I specializes in fishing for sailfish, dorado (mahi-mahi), marlin and roosterfish.

The charter price includes 7 to 8 hours of fishing, fishing license, refreshments (bottled water, soft drinks and beer if requested) and bait.

ESTURION II

The Esturion II is a 38' custom sportfishing cruiser powered by twin diesel engines.

The Esturion II comes equipped with a live bait well, tuna tubes, VHF radio, GPS, and stereo CD player along with Penn International reels matched to custom rods as well as light spinning and baitcasting tackle.

At the helm is Captain Alfredo Vargas, the founder of Vargas Sportfishing and one of the most well-respected local sport fishing captains with over 40 years experience.

The Esturion II specializes in fishing for sailfish, dorado (mahi-mahi), marlin and roosterfish.The charter price includes 7 to 8 hours of fishing, fishing license, refreshments (bottled water, soft drinks and beer if requested) and bait.

ESTURION III

The Esturion III is a 27' Super Panga powered by a 80 hp 4-stroke Yamaha outboard engine with a center console and bimini top.

The Esturion III comes equipped with a live bait well, tuna tubes, VHF radio, GPS, and stereo CD player along with Penn International reels matched to custom rods.

At the helm is Captain Juan Vargas with over 20 years experience fishing in the Zihuatanejo-Ixtapa area.

The Esturion III specializes in fishing for tuna, sailfish, dorado (mahi-mahi), marlin and roosterfish.

Regular charters are for 7 hours of fishing. Tuna charters are for 10 hours. Both prices include fishing license, refreshments (bottled water, soft drinks and beer if requested) and 24 live baits.

DUQUESA

The Duquesa is a 40' custom sportfishing cruiser powered by twin diesel engines.

The Duquesa comes equipped with a live bait well, tuna tubes, VHF radio, GPS, and stereo CD player along with Penn International reels matched to custom rods as well as light spinning and baitcasting tackle.

At the helm is Captain Uvaldo Anzo with over 20 years experience fishing in the Zihuatanejo-Ixtapa area.

The Duquesa specializes in fishing for sailfish, dorado (mahi-mahi), marlin and roosterfish.
